January 2014

Another new year is here!   We are excited to show our new Saturday Sampler program.  We are doing 12" pieced blocks in two different color ways . . . AND . . . we are adding an embroidery option.  You may choose to embroider 8" blocks that compliment the pieced block, and we will show you a setting that combines the blocks in one quilt. The embroidery blocks will be offered as a kit at the February Saturday Sampler class.  The kit will include the fabric and patterns for twelve months.  The embroidered blocks will follow "A Country Life" theme.
If you prefer not to do embroidery, that certainly is an option and we will show a quilt using only the pieced blocks.  Both quilts are going to be just lovely.

And . . . as if that isn't enough options, if you make the pieced blocks, you may also add another color of your choosing.  For example, if you want a black and pink quilt, you may add pink fabric to the kit we give you for the black block.   (You will pay for your own added fabric if you pick that option.)

Of course we also have to do an appliqued quilt.  This year we have chosen "boots", with the finished quilt being called "All About the Boots".  There will be twelve boot blocks presented through the year and a topper that coordinates with the quilt.  We will also show you other settings for the appliqued blocks, just in case you want to also make a wall hanging, pillows, runners or other home decor.

Here are block options for the embroidery in the black color way . . .
