December Saturday Sampler

In November we had our big reveal and was it fabulous!  There are so many ways that you can combine these quilts and the choices you have are seriously endless!

The Pieced quilt goes so well with the Silhouettes, I just know it will be hard to decide how to put it together.

November Saturday Sampler

The big reveal is coming in just a few days but here are the blocks for November 2015

We just have 1 picture of the pieced block until the quilt comes back from the quilter.

Our HooDa Owl is the sweetest!

The Geese have decided to fly South for the Winter.  Maybe they know something that we don't know?

We were so excited for October, we forgot September.

It's Saturday Sampler again. . . and we are Happy, Happy, Happy! We love the pieced blocks.

The Silhouettes Gone Wild is a wonderful Wyoming animal, the Buffalo.

HooDa has another owl joining her company!  Love the gray background!

Fall is upon us and a great time to get to sewing.  Kids will be going back to school and so hopefully we can start getting our projects started and completed.  (is this wishful thinking?)

Instead of being late this month, we decided to post July's blocks ahead of schedule so you get a sneak peak of what you will be doing.

We are now in the beginning of the last half of 2015,  you can start getting all of your thoughts and creative designs together on how you will put the quilt together.  We can't wait to show you what we have in store and so anxious to see what you  have come up with too.

March Saturday Sampler

Hard to believe it is the second Saturday in March of 2015!  The older we get . . . the faster time flies!

Here is the Silhouettes Gone Wild block,

the pieced block in the blues and browns . . . so gorgeous. 

The pieced block in the aqua, citron, and gray. . . 

And HooDa and Company.   The flowers in the lower right corner are an embellishment on the table runner and not part of the block of the month kit. 

We also had a wonderful Humanitarian Project  opportunity presented by Janice Barnes.  She is a member of the Bridger Valley Quilt Guild and is starting a chapter of "Days For Girls" in our valley.  The chapter will make sanitary kits for girls living in third world countries.  We will inform you when there are "sew" days for the chapter, and you can check at Valley Fabric Shop for opportunities to donate supplies, time and talent to this great effort.  Thanks Janice for reminding us of how lucky we are to live in this great country!

February Saturday Sampler

Hi friends!  Here are the blocks for February.  The colors are so gorgeous and rich, hard to do them justice with a computer photo. 

The pieced blocks will finish at 12".  Here are the browns, taupes, grays and blues . . . .

And the teal and citron.

We are loving "HooDa and Company", a fiesty owl and her friends.  These blocks will finish at 9".

If you are a lover of the outdoors, you'll enjoy the  rich colors and "earthy" feel of "Silhouettes 

Gone Wild". These blocks will finish at 9"

A Change in the Pattern

Hi Saturday Sampler ladies,

We need to make you aware of a mistake on the Silhouettes Gone Wild Pattern.  The sky portion needs to be reversed and then trace it onto your fusible web.
Also, if you picked up your block between January 10 and 21, you need to call the shop and ask for a new copy of the pattern, as the sky portion is short.  The correction was made on all patterns given out after Jan. 21.

I (Geralyn) have learned some valuable lessons:

#1 - All scanners are not equal.  If the scanner is a bit older, it may distort drawings.

#2 - It is not wise to combine flu, hospital, and designing patterns. 

Apologies go to all making this block and the inconvenience it may cause.  However, it is going to be a GREAT QUILT and you will love it!  Thanks for hanging in there.... I (and everyone at Valley Fabric Shop) appreciate you!

Trying Again

 We will try again to post the Saturday Sampler blocks for those who were unable to access the photos.  Bottom line. . . we are quilters, not techies!

The Silhouettes Gone Wild applique block, will finish at 9".  Yours will be cut 9 1/2" x 9 1/2".

HooDa and Company, also finished at 9", cut block 9 1/2" x 9 1/2".  Isn't she "owldorable"?

The aqua/gray color way of the pieced block.  It will measure 12" square when finished.

The blue/brown color way of the pieced block.  Very masculine!  Our picture is kind of wonky. . . it is just like the other pieced block, we just changed placement of the 4-patch units.  You get to choose the assembly you like.
