November and December Saturday Sampler

Here are the November blocks, sorry about the late posting.  Life just happens sometimes!

The red pieced block . . .

The black pieced block for November.

And the pink/brown boot block. . . .

The red/brown boot block.

And then for December . . .

The  boots . . .

We also have our blocks put together in a couple of different patterns.  They are stunning, come in and take a look.  We have patterns for the red and cream quilt, you can use both the embroidered blocks and the pieced.  You may also use just one set, though you will need to make a few extra blocks. Kits and free patterns are available.

We are working on a pattern for the black and white, let us know if you are interested in those instructions.

Have a very Merry Christmas.  We hope to see you when we start again the 2nd Saturday in January.!

October Saturday Sampler

Howdy from two of our favorite quilters!  They joined in the fun and came to our Saturday Sampler Boot Celebration in fine cowgirl style.  Thanks girls for sharing your enthusiasm.

Here is the pieced block for October.  It features gorgeous reds . . .

or dramatic black and whites.

The boot block adds another charming design to the quilt.  Here it is in the pink color way . . .

. . . and the brown color way.

And TAH DAH!!!! the boot quilts are finished.  They are gorgeous and come on in "fer a gander" if you haven't seen them yet.  Kits are available for each style.  We used a splendid barbed wire trim and even a little burlap trim. . . both washable.  The brown quilt measures about 64" x 75".

The pink quilt, about 69" x 79",  has star corner posts, giving it a bit of a different look.  We also like the appliqued flower.  It is soooo worth a trip into the store to see the quilts and the displays . . . including matching pillows, table toppers, and bags to name a few things.  So darn' excitin'!

September Saturday Sampler

Here are the gorgeous blocks for our Saturday Sampler.  This has a lot of pieces, so you really need to watch seam allowance and cutting.  It is a great challenge to improve and work on accuracy skills.
We pressed all the seams open, that eliminates bulk with the many seams.  It can also be pressed to one side in the more traditional manner.

The black color way is gorgeous also!

Here is the brown and red boot block, we love the striped background.

The pink is pretty as you please!  Add stitching and bling to make it yours!

July and August Blocks

We are a little late posting July blocks, but here they are.  The boot blocks . . .

and the pieced blocks.

Now for the August blocks.

We are sooo (sew!) excited as we have started putting our blocks together.  The quilts will be unveiled at Saturday Sample in October.  We think they are some of our best EVER!  Stay tuned . . . and join us on the second Saturday of each month for quilting tips, techniques, and the blocks , with the quilts coming soon.
Thanks so much for your support, our Saturday ladies are wonderful.

June Saturday Sampler

June is bustin' out all over! It was lovely to see some of our Saturday ladies today.
The weather was a little cool outside, but "warm" (sorry. . . couldn't resist)  friends and quilters always make it a better day.

Here are the pieced blocks for June. They are a little more challenging than some we have done,
but press seams open after step 4, and you'll have an easier time of it.

The black and white block . . .

the red color way . . .

And the boots . . . It's All About the Boots! Here is the pink and brown sample

. . . and the other color way.  We love the patriotic look of this block.

May 2014

Happy Mother's Day to all!

Here are the blocks for May.  We found an interesting aspect of the black and white, the geometric print and the grey floral can be interchanged.  In other words, you can choose which place you put those two fabrics!

The red prints make a very pretty block.

This month you get another "pair" of boots.  The pink and brown is perfect for any cowgirl. . .

and the country colors work for a guy or a girl.  Lovin' us some boots!

April, late but posted!

Here are the boot blocks for April, the pink is first . . .

and then the country colors.

We love the pieced block, an 8-point star within a star.  The black and white is striking,

and the red is very pretty also.

March Saturday Sampler

Thanks to everyone who attended our classes today.  Such a lovely group of ladies!  We got to see some of the finished quilts from last year, always such a delight.  As soon as they are hung in the classroom we will take photos and post on the blog.  Or better yet, come into the shop and see what great work is done by the talented ladies from our classes.

Here are the blocks for March!  Don't you love the pink boot?

And here is the brown boot, with a little blue, it is striking!

February Saturday Sampler

Thanks to all the lovely ladies who braved the weather and made it to the shop for Saturday Sampler.  After 31 years in Wyoming, I (Geralyn) am a total wimp and did not make it, I just hate those snowy mountain roads.
Despite the roads and thanks to technology, we have some great blocks to make this month.

Here is the black color way. . .

. . . And the red.  They are very pretty blocks.

IF you are doing the boot blocks, you'll like this photo. This month's block is a "pair".

And . . . for those interested, we have added a pink color option, in case you want to make a quilt for a girl.  This is a separate kit, you will want to ask for the "pink boot" option.  Following is the February block.

And . . . we certainly had to go back and make a January block in pink, so if you choose that option, you will have the opportunity to make 12 complete blocks.

If you have any questions, just give us a call.  The embroidery patterns are in, so yours should be in the mail, of if you should decide to stitch them, just call Valley Fabric.
Have a great day!
